The National Skill Development Corporation, (NSDC) is a one of its kind, Public Private Partnership in India, under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. It aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality, for-profit vocational institutions. NSDC provides funding to build scalable, for-profit vocational training initiatives. Its mandate is also to enable support systems such as quality assurance, information systems and train the trainer academies either directly or through partnerships. NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organisations that provide skill training. It will also develop appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives. The differentiated focus for the 21 sectors under NSDC's purview and its understanding of their viability will make every sector attractive to private investment.
Skill Council for Green Jobs is one of the most recently launched initiatives of the Government of India aligned to the National Skill Development Mission. It is promoted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The creation of the SCGJ was approved in the 10th meeting of National Skill Qualifications Committee held on 28th September 2015. Established as a not-for-profit, autonomous, industry-led society, the SCGJ was incorporated under the Societies Registration Act XXI, 1860 on 1st October, 2015. The Government of India has announced the National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015. It envisages a major role of private sector as shared responsibility for skill development in the country. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been created Skill Councils in various domains.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has actively initiated Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) through its approved Technical Institutes to impart skill based training through selected institutes for offering training to at least 100 unemployed youth per year per college in Engineering Skills based on the job roles as per National Occupational Standards (NOS) prescribed by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).
Suryamitra Program is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), New Delhi and National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Gurugram. The programme aims to develop the skills of youth, considering the opportunities for employment in the growing Solar Energy Power project's installation, operation & maintenance in India and abroad. The Suryamitra Programme is also designed to prepare the candidates to become new entrepreneurs in Solar Energy sector. The candidate should be 10th pass with ITI in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Fitter or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics / Electronics and Communication not below 18 years & not above 30 years.
Suryamitra Program is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), New Delhi and National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), Chennai. VSDP aims to create a work force in the operation, maintenance, instrumentation, mechanical, site surveyor to maintain the wind power plant according to the job roles in line with the approved three Qualifications Packs (QP) namely; 1. O&M Electrical & Instrumentation Technician – Wind Power Plant (SGJ/Q1503) 2. O&M Mechanical Technician – Wind Power Plant (SGJ/Q1502) 3. Site Surveyor – Wind Power Plant (SGJ/Q1202) The candidate should be Class 12th with science with 1 year relevant experience/ ITI/ Diploma/ B.E./B. Tech (Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / Electronics & Communications / Control & Instrumentation)
